PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a controller which prevents the fusion of an overvoltage absorbing resistor. SOLUTION: To solve the above problem, this controller is equipped with an overvoltage absorbing resistor for absorption of overvoltage by the counter electromotive force of a servo motor 60, a switching part 10 which is connected to the servo motor 60 for carrying current to the overvoltage absorbing resistor 20 and the overvoltage absorbing resistor 20, a detector 30 which detects the state of current carrying or break of the switching part 10 and converts it into a detection signal, an input part 42 which receives the input of the above detection signal, a central processing unit 44 which processes the current carrying and break time of the switching part 10 by the above detection signal, a storage part 46 which stores processing procedure and processing results, an output part 48 which receives the input of the above processing results and outputs a signal to show the overheat state of the overvoltage absorbing resistor 20, and an annunciator 50 which informs the user of the overheat state by the above signal from the output part 48.
