PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication apparatus capable of registering a prescribed function to an LED. SOLUTION: A general-purpose key 67 incorporates the LED 68. Further, a RAM 30 stores a function list 31 registerable to the general-purpose key 67. The function list 31 includes functions only indicating a state of the functions such as 'Faxing' or 'Reading'. When the function number corresponding to the functions indicating only the state is selected by a ten-key 64, the function indicating only the state is registered to the general-purpose key 67 incorporating the LED 68. Thus, only the function indicating only the state is registered to the LED 68 of the general-purpose key 67.
