PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide guide information surely to a mobile communication terminal prior to arriving at a goal. SOLUTION: An information providing system comprises a portable telephone 2 transmitting a current location information ID for specifying the current location, and an information base station 3 having a section 21 communicable with the portable telephone 2. The information base station 3 comprises a section 23 where the holder of the portable telephone 2 previously inputs and stores course information D3 including the route from a start to a goal and the required time or the scheduled time arriving at the goal, and a control unit 22 for controlling the communicating section 21 to transmit guide information D2 to the portable telephone 2 a specified time before the scheduled arriving time of the holder, to calculate the difference between a time arriving at a position specified by the current location information ID transmitted from the portable telephone 2 in the route and a calculated time arriving at a position calculated based on the course information D3, and to correct the scheduled arriving time by that time difference.
