PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable radio system which enables the transmitter or recipient of mail to confirm the status of mail distribution. SOLUTION: The portable radio system transmits mail from a portable radio terminal 10A to another portable radio terminal 10B via a mail server 40. The portable radio terminal 10A adds, to the header of the mail, distribution notice control information for reporting an instruction on the notice of the status of the distribution mail to the mail server 40, and the mail server 40 notifies the portable radio terminal 10A of the status of the mail distribution according to the distribution notice control information.
