PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize an electronic apparatus which is provided with a register capable of renewing retained data when reading is carried out after writing the data and is capable of again outputting the read data already read out from the register. SOLUTION: In the electronic apparatus (modem card 1) transmitting data between the apparatus and a host apparatus 2 via an SDIO bus, an UART (universal asynchronous receiver/transmitter) portion 13 is capable of reading and writing data. The electronic apparatus is provided with a first data retaining means capable of renewing retained data when reading is performed after data are written in, a second data retaining means capable of reading and writing data, and a control means outputting the data to the host apparatus 2 by reading the data from the first data retaining means and writing values of the read data read from the first data retaining means into the second data retaining means when receiving a demand for reading data of the first data retaining means from the host apparatus 2.
