LIGHT SOURCE FOR BACKLIGHT

摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light source for a backlight of a less variation in quantity of light supply to the lightguide plate which is caused by displacement of a semiconductor light emitting device.

SOLUTION: A main light exit surface of a surface-mounting semiconductor light-emitting device 31 is bonded to the side surface of a lightguide plate 34 for a backlight. By bonding the semiconductor light-emitting device 31 to the side surface of the lightguide plate 34, a displacement in semiconductor light- emitting device 31 from the lightguide plate 34 is eliminated.
