METHOD AND DEVICE FOR CONTROLLING OPTICAL PICKUP SETTING

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for controlling optical pickup setting which can suppress heat generation of a stepping motor at high temperatures and prevent the condition of the stepping motor from being slipped at low temperatures. SOLUTION: A temperature sensor 18 installed on the optical pickup 5 detects temperature inside the device. A temperature determination control part 15 of a stepping motor control part 14 determines whether the detected temperature is higher or lower than reference temperature, drives the stepping motor with a waveform having attenuation in a fixed section to suppress heat generation when the detected temperature is higher and drives the stepping motor with a waveform with fixed amplitude to prevent the condition from being slipped when the detected temperature is lower.
