PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a dark-field camera employing an image sensor in which bright video information taking the image quality seriously can be obtained even when the exposure level is very low and video information of necessary and sufficient brightness is obtained while increasing the transfer rate of the video information when the exposure level is not very low. SOLUTION: Output D1 from an image sensor 1 is amplified by an AGC amplifier 2, video information generated from a video information generating circuit 3 is stored in a work memory 4 as a plurality of temporally continuous frames, and the exposure level is measured by an exposure level measuring means 6. Depending on the region of exposure level to which a measure exposure level belongs among regions divided by a plurality of reference values, the number of frames for superposing the plurality of frames of video information stored in the work memory 4 is determined. An operating circuit 5 superposes the determined number of frames to produce one frame of video information which is converted into specified video format data and outputted. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
