The cleaner consists of an oval round container (100) of a water soluble material, containing soluble cells (200) of a treatment product (900) that breaks down organic matter when it is released. The treatment product can be in the form of a gel, liquid or powder, and the container is shaped so that it sits in the guttering and does not roll along it; it is made sufficiently strong so it dows not break if it falls off the roof.
