<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly treat a phrase structure with respect to a adverbial particle by clearly defining the adverbial particle as a category of a part of speech. <P>SOLUTION: The case structure of an inputted sentence consisting of a adverbial particle P connected after a sentence S, a verb phrase VP, an adjective phrase AP or a noun phrase NP is analyzed to determine whether the inputted sentence includes the sentence S or not. When a subject which is not located at the head of the sentence S is present, it is determined that the inputted sentence including the subject and the adverbial particle is a noun phrase or an adverb phrase. When the inputted sentence including the adverbial particle doesn't include the sentence S, it is determined that the inputted sentence is a noun phrase or an adverb phrase. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
