PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a movable contact for a push button switch with high reliability where such a malfunction that dust enters in a dome-shaped bulge to gather in the vicinity of a contact through grooves to secure an air passage is hard to occur, and to provide a switching device. SOLUTION: The movable contact comprises an insulating elastic member 1 which has a base 1a, where a placing surface 1h to be placed on a circuit board 4 is provided in an under surface thereof, and a dome-shaped elastic deformation part 1c which is formed so as to protrude from the base 1a and can be inverted, and a contact 2 installed at a central part in the undersurface side of the elastic deformation part 1c. In addition, by a plane view, the grooves 1g, by which an outside of the base 1a and a hollow part 1b in the elastic deformation part 1c communicate with each other, extend towards the periphery of the contact 2.
