PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve transfer signal quality by eliminating an adhesion failure between a slave medium and a master carrier when magnetic transfer is carried out simultaneously on both surfaces of the slave medium in a magnetic recording medium. SOLUTION: The signal area 3a of a master carrier 3 carrying information and the signal area 4a of the other master carrier 4 are arranged to be position- shifted from each other in a circumferential direction when they are overlapped by sandwiching the slave medium 2. Thus, when the signal areas having very small irregular patterns are pressed into contact with the slave medium 2 to carry out magnetic transfer, they influence each other to prevent adhesion failures.
