PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic exchange device for allowing a user carrying no exchange card to exchange money with an existing device. SOLUTION: As the exchange card, a regular customer card, a temporary customer card, and a staff card are provided. Each card stores a respective card class. An exchange process is made according to the read card class. In the case of the regular customer card, the exchange card is returned at the time of exchange as usual. In the case of the temporary customer card, the exchange card is collected at the time of exchange.
