This device comprises a frame (1) including an input and an output, aligned according to a longitudinal conveying path of the piles (6) to be turned, a fold-over grip (12) swivelling around an horizontal axis (13), transverse to the longitudinal trajectory, comprising two conveying units, of which the one, a series of rollers (10) is used to deliver the piles (6) entering the device and of which the other, a belt conveyor (11) is used to remove the piles (6) after rotation of the fold-over grip (12) around the axis (13) and means (19) to press the piles (6) between the conveying units (10, 11) during the rotation of th e fold- over grip (12). A pusher carriage (25) is laid on between the belt conveyor (11) and the series of rollers (10) and is connected to driving means (21).</SDOA B>
