PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery with high charge/discharge efficiency even at high temperatures and high storage characteristics.

SOLUTION: This nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery is comprised of at least a negative electrode containing a different element material capable of storing and releasing lithium; a positive electrode containing a metal oxide material capable of storing and releasing lithium, and an electrolyte prepared by dissolving a lithium salt in a nonaqueous solvent, and saturated fluorinated carboxylate obtained by replacing part of hydrogen atoms of saturated chain carboxylate by fluorine atoms contains 0.01-5 wt.% of the electrolyte in the nonaqueous electrolyte.
