<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an R-Fe-(B,C) sintered magnet improved in magnetizability by adding inexpensive additives other than expensive Dy metal or Tb metal, and its to provide manufacturing method. <P>SOLUTION: A granular grain boundary phase is formed at a main phase crystal grain boundary, composed mainly of R<SB>2</SB>Fe<SB>14</SB>B crystals or a grain boundary tripple point, the grain boundary phase contains the fluorides of rare earth elements, and the R-Fe-(B,C) sintered magnet (wherein, R denotes rare earth elements, 50% or above of R is Nd and/or Pr) contains 3 to 20 wt.% fluorides of the rare earth elements. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
