PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a craw pole rotating electric machine capable of being downsized so as to prevent a bearing from being damaged by eliminating the magnetization of a shaft and the leakage of effective magnetic flux. SOLUTION: This craw pole rotating electric machine comprises an armature core fixed to a bracket, an armature winding inserted into the armature core, an annular field core supported by the bracket and wound with a field winding, pawl magnet poles which are fitted to the shaft so as to form gaps respectively on the inner periphery side of the armature core and the outer periphery side of the field core and are energized by the magnetomotive force of the field winding, and a rotor which is magnetically insulated from the pawl magnet poles and in which the pawl magnet poles energized in different magnetisms are alternately arranged at intervals in the circumferential direction. In the craw pole electric rotating electric machine, non-magnetic material is used for the shaft. The non-magnetic material shaft is not magnetized and is capable of eliminating the leakage of the effective magnet flux, thereby permits downsizing and preventing the bearing from being damaged.
