PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a contour correcting system which is most suitable for a matrix-driven driving display device such as a liquid crystal TV. SOLUTION: A video signal made to be adaptive to liquid crystal panel resolution by a resize circuit 105 is converted into RGB signals through the use of a gamma correcting circuit 106. Then a contour correcting circuit 109 performs a contour correction processing by using a dot clock d.
