PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reader capable of performing efficient print processing. SOLUTION: When a page being part of an original comprising a plurality of pages having been copied before is printed again in the image reader, a desired copy mode is set and a desired copy mode is set, and only a prescribed original is scanned to obtain a desired printed matter. For example, only the original between the 20th and 59th pages in a job comprising 80 pages stored in a storage means of the image reader are scanned and the copy mode is set between them so as to obtain printed matters from the 20th page to the 59th page.
