<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve running durability by effectively preventing the deterioration of lubricating characteristics in a contact/sliding part between a head and a disk caused by change in temperature environment. <P>SOLUTION: In this disk drive provided with the disk 11 rotated by a spindle motor and a floating type head that floats over the disk, a lubricant giving a running durability into the contact or sliding part between the head and the disk is applied to a coil part 21 inside the spindle motor 21. In the disk drive, a ring structure whose coefficient of thermal expansion is larger than that of a base or hob is installed in a gap formed between the base mounted with the spindle motor and the hub mounted with the disk. Thus, an increase in temperature of the spindle motor is utilized to supply a vaporized lubricant into the disk drive at low temperatures to enable an operation accompanying change in temperature environment over a long period of time. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
