PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem of a conventional electric insulator between a coil and a stator core that high thermal resistance of the insulator causes a trouble when cooling the coil, and to provide an electric rotating machine in which heat generated from the coil can be dissipated efficiently. SOLUTION: The electric rotating machine comprises a stator coil formed by laying a plurality of electromagnetic steel plates in layers wherein a high thermal conductivity composite material composed of thermosetting resin having an anisotroic structure in resin component is placed in stator slots for winding a plurality of coils at a specified interval. Since thermal resistance is decreased by burying protrusions and recesses of the stator core where the electromagnetic steel plates are laid in layer by thermosetting the resin while applying a pressure and an insulator having high thermal conductivity is employed between the coil and the stator core, heat generated from the coil can be transmitted easily to the stator core. Consequently, heat dissipation properties are enhanced and temperature rise of the electric rotating machine is reduced. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
