<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lighting system with a sensor for stairs capable of adjusting an detection beam from an infrared sensor in vertical direction while capable of adjusting a protrusion amount of a light receiving surface of the infrared sensor from an apparatus body. <P>SOLUTION: The lighting system with a sensor for stairs comprises an infrared sensor provided with an infrared ray detecting element, a cylindrical body incorporating it, and a light receiving surface provided to a side peripheral surface of the body. The system detects presence of an object within a prescribed area, with the light receiving surface of the infrared sensor protruding from the apparatus body. The infrared sensor comprises, in matrix, one or more horizontal detection beam expanding horizontally in the detection region and a plurality of vertical detection beam expanding vertically. The sensor is provided with a rotary movement means which sets the amount of protrusion of the light receiving surface of the infrared sensor from the apparatus body to a prescribed value while setting the vertical angle of the detection beam to a prescribed value while supporting the cylindrical body of the infrared sensor. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
