PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control system capable of being shifted to an inoperative mode when a user is absent by allowing an apparatus to be controlled such as an air-conditioner to infer the absence of the user. SOLUTION: The apparatuses to be controlled installed in a house such as an air-conditioner, a television receiver, a lighting apparatus, and a fixed phone are connected to a network, and one of the apparatuses to be controlled is used for a center apparatus for controlling an operation mode of the apparatuses to be controlled. Each apparatus to be controlled is configured to make wireless communication with a controller around itself and configured to transmit peripheral information obtained by searching the controller around itself to the center apparatus. The center apparatus grasps information with respect to location of the controller on the basis of the peripheral information, decides the operation mode of each apparatus to be controlled according to the peripheral information and transmits the information as control information to each apparatus to be controlled.
