The refrigerator compartment (14) is mounted at the front of the trolley (1) and has a motor (11) which is supplied from batteries (10). The compartment has a lid (17) with handle (19) and the batteries are recharged by means of a male connector (7) which engages with a female connection (23) on a fixed station (22). A series of trolleys may be recharged by using a rear female connector (6) to link them together and to the terminal.
