PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plane speaker wherein a breaking of wire due to metal fatigue hardly takes place in a voice coil of a diaphragm. SOLUTION: The voice coil 18 of the diaphragm 14 is placed so that the voice coil does not traverse ridge lines x<SB>1</SB>, y<SB>1</SB>of a loop of a primary vibration mode of the diaphragm and ridge lines x<SB>21</SB>, x<SB>22</SB>, y<SB>2</SB>of a loop of a secondary vibration mode.
