PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a network connecting apparatus, a network connection method, and a program in which a connection to a network is easily carried out without taking care of the form of the connection to the network. SOLUTION: When performing the connection to the network, connection systems are successively selected and connected one by one out of a plurality of mutually different connection systems, a suited connection system is decided and with respect to such a decided suited connection system, a command is sent for further deciding the class of equipment for a network connection to be connected to the network. Based upon the responded result of the command, the class of the equipment for the network connection is decided, and connecting processing is carried out through a procedure corresponding to the decided class of the equipment for the network connection.
