PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heater making compatible the prevention of fixing uneveness with reduction of a fixing property in the state that a fixing device is not heated under a low temperature environment and the prevention of hot offset in the case where the fixing device becomes high in temperature. SOLUTION: In the heater, a material to be heated is heated by a heating body comprising at least an energized heat generation body and an electrode for feeding electricity to the energized heat generation body. A resistance- temperature characteristic of the energization heat generation body is partially different. The heater has a heating body; and a heat-resistant film of which one surface is contacted/slid with the heating body and the other surface is contacted with the material to be heated. In the heater, the heat of the heating body is transmitted to the material to be heated through the film by moving the film and the material to be heated together on the heating body. The heating body comprises at least the energization heat generation body; and the electrode for feeding electricity to the energization heat generation body. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
