The folding roof (1) for a container (2), ship's hold, trailer or railway truck consists of two or more hinged panels (10, 11). These have rollers on their edges which move on rails mounted inside a frame (14) mounted on the upper rim of the container, allowing the panels to be folded back at one end. A locking system allows the panels to be opened in either direction.
