<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure the waterproofing of a part of a lamp body to which a discharge bulb lighting device is attached outside the lamp body of a vehicle headlamp. <P>SOLUTION: The vehicle headlamp 1 has the structures of the lamp body 3 in which a discharge bulb 7 is disposed, and the discharge bulb lighting device 14, which structures comprise an opening section 9 formed on the lamp body 3, the discharge bulb lighting device 14 attached to the lamp body 3 so as to cover the opening section 9, a power supply cord 27 connecting the discharge bulb 7 and the discharge bulb lighting device 14 through the opening section 9, a cylindrical waterproofing wall 10 formed protrudingly on the lamp body 3 near the periphery of the opening section 9, positioning ribs 12 formed protrudingly from the position of the lamp body 3 surrounding the outside of the waterproofing wall 10, a cylindrical waterproofing rib 19 with a smaller diameter than that of the waterproofing wall 10 which is installed on the discharge bulb lighting device 14, and parts 17 to be regulated touching internally the positioning ribs 12 which are installed thereon, wherein an O-ring 22 is installed between the waterproofing rib 19 and the waterproofing wall 10, and the discharge bulb lighting device 14 is screw-fastened to the lamp body 3 with the parts 17 to be regulated touching the positioning ribs 12 internally. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
