<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To apply further frequency processing to image data applied with anisotropic frequency processing without generating an artifact. <P>SOLUTION: In an image generator 10 for generating image data S0 applied with anisotropic sharpness processing, characteristics information presenting a direction in which sharpness processing is applied is generated in advance and this is stored in a memory 2. When the image data S0 are inputted, based upon the characteristic information F, isotropic sharpness processing is applied to the image data S0 in a sharpness processing means 3 to reduce an emphasis in the direction where sharpness processing is applied, and processed image data S1 are generated. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
