<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic electroluminescent element and an organic electroluminescent display panel having a high shielding property and having a luminescent characteristic hardly degraded. <P>SOLUTION: This organic electroluminescent display panel comprises: this organic electroluminescent element comprising first and second display electrodes and one or more organic functional layers each formed of an organic compound, and interposed and stacked between the first and second display electrodes; and a substrate for carrying the organic electroluminescent element. The display panel has: a first inorganic barrier film covering the organic electroluminescent element and the surface of the substrate around it; a polymer compound film covering the first inorganic barrier film in a range larger than that of the organic electroluminescent element; and a second inorganic barrier film covering the polymer compound film and its edge part. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
