PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To use a portable telephone with a camera in an optimum state in response to a using mode such as a normal talking mode, a television talking mode or the like. SOLUTION: A first body 1 having a liquid crystal monitor 11, a speaker 12 and a camera 13 is oscillatorily connected to a second body having a microphone 21 and a key 22 via a shaft 3. The camera 13 is turnably connected to the body 1 via its support 14. When the using mode such as the normal talking mode, the telephone talking mode, a mail mode, an imaging mode or the like is input from the key 22, the shafts 3, 15 are driven, and the first body 1, the second body 2 and the camera 13 are moved to direct in an optimum direction in response to the using mode.
