PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a contents transmission/reception system for effectively utilizing a limited broadcast band while addressing needs of users to the utmost and to provide various technologies useful of effectively building up the system. SOLUTION: Each receiver accepts designation of contents from a user, the content transmission system collects the designations, selects the contents depending on the result of collection, broadcasts the selected contents by a broadcast wave of a prescribed broadcast band, and individually transmits the contents not broadcast by the broadcast wave to the receivers of the users designating the contents via a communication channel.
