PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem of increase in current consumption of the conventional sensor with communication function, the problem having been raised since a sensor data processing portion is operated at an intermittent driving timing from a timing generating portion and a data transmitting portion transmits measurement data. SOLUTION: This sensor with a communication function comprises a sensor data processing portion for processing a signal from a sensor portion; a data transmitting portion which creates a transmission data transmittable to an external device based on a input signal from the sensor data processing portion; a timing generating portion which creates a timing for driving the sensor data processing portion and the data transmission portion; and a power supply portion which supplies a power to the sensor data processing portion, data transmission portion and timing generating portion. The sensor data processing potion has a transmitting means which determines whether communication can be established based on a signal from the sensor portion, and an output signal from the transmitting means is input to the timing generating portion.
