PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the reliability and safety of a current shut-off element when it is surely made to actuate by being inserted into a resin molding part in an embedded state, and produce a large amount of inexpensive current shut- off elements by reducing failures in the case of inserting the element into the resin molding part. SOLUTION: This current shut-off element is provided with a case 61, a pair of output terminals 62 comprised by being fixed to this case 61, and a current shut-off part 63 which is built-in in the case 61 and which shuts-off the current by separating a contact point 64 when the temperature becomes higher than a set temperature or over-current flows. The case 61 is composed of the main body case 61A and a cap case 61B made of a polyamide resin in which the filler is not substantially filled. The main body case 61A has a housing space to have the current shut-off part 63 built-in, and the opening part of this housing space 65 is occluded by the cap case 61B. In the main body case 61A, all the surroundings of the opening part is molded by the polyamide resin, and the cap case 61B made of the polyamide resin is adhered to all the surroundings of the opening part by a supersonic wave welding.
