PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the fixing force of external conductors to an elemental ceramic body, without compromising the electrical characteristics of the conductors and, in addition, to accurately and quickly discriminate the quality of products. SOLUTION: Borosilicate glass and a ceramic composition containing SiO<SB>2</SB>, BaCO<SB>3</SB>, Al<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>, etc., are mixed with each other so that the content of the borosilicate glass in the mixture becomes 60-72 wt.% and the elemental ceramic body 1, containing embedded internal electrodes 5, is formed from the mixture. In addition, paste for external electrode, containing the borosilicate glass in the amount of 3-5 wt.% with respect to Ag used as a conductive material, is prepared and external electrodes 2a and 2b are formed on the external surface of the ceramic body 1 by using the paste. The borosilicate glass contained in the paste can contain Cr<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>in the amount of 0.50-3.00 wt.%. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
