PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital camera including an optical finder and an electronic viewfinder with excellent friendliness to a photographer. SOLUTION: The digital camera is provided with: an imaging means 103 for imaging an object via a photographing optical system; a finder optical system for optically viewing the object in addition to a photographing optical system; a monitor means 108 for displaying an electronic image imaged by the imaging means; a half mirror placed inside the finer optical system and guiding the electronic image displayed on the monitor means 108 to the optical path of the finder optical system; a liquid crystal filter 111 that is set to a transmission state and a shade state and shuts off the incident of the object luminous flux onto inside the finder optical system in the shade state; and a control means 100 for allowing the monitor means 108 to display the electronic image in response to the depression of a release button and bringing the liquid crystal filter to the shade state.
