PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color conversion table generating method for reducing the number of measurements of colors of an image for generating a color conversion table, and to provide a color conversion table generating device, its program, and a medium with the program recorded. SOLUTION: Three-to-six color relation (intermediate correspondence relation) is decided between CMY data (intermediate color picture data) consisting of intermediate element colors CMY whose number is smaller than that of the element colors of CMYKcm data (second color picture data), and the CMYKcm data. A plurality of kinds of CMY data provided in a plurality of stages concerning each one of CMY based on the three-to-six color relation are converted in color into CMYKcm data, and a plurality of corresponding patches are printed by a printer. The plurality of printed patches are measured in color to obtain a color measurement result. Correspondence is decided between RGB data (first color picture data), and CMYKcm data based on the three-to-six color relation and the color measurement result, so that an LUT (color conversion table) is generated.
