PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rail attaching mechanism which inreases the flexibility concerning rail attaching to various kinds of I/O terminal units or the like, and can cope with fixing I/O terminal units or the like having various sizes, cope with various protruding states of an external connection cable from various kinds of the I/O terminal units or the like, and cope with various peripheral situations wherein various kinds of the I/O terminal units or the like are attached. SOLUTION: The rail attaching mechanism is equipped with a base substance 11 having rail inserting trenches in which a rail 30 is inserted and first engaging parts which engage with an upper edge side of the rail 30, and a movable engaging means 21 which is slidably arranged on the base substance 11 and has a second engaging part which engages detachably with a lower edge side of the rail 30. The plurality of rail inserting trenches 12, 13 are formed perpendicularly to each other. The first engaging parts 12c, 13c and fixing means 15, 15 of a movable engaging means 21 are formed corresponding to the trenches 12 and 13, respectively. The fixing means 15, 15 are formed in the trenches 12, 13 in such a manner that interference with the rail 30 is not generated. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
