A radio frequency interference suppressing choke and connection means are secured to a common support structure 30. The said support structure 30 may be a housing arrangement in which a "bar-type" or annular ferrite core 34 and associated coil or coils 36 may be secured by snap-fit fingers 44 and/or encapsulated by resin. The connection means may be screw terminals 40 or plug and socket arrangements. The said housing arrangement 30 may be shaped for easy and secure insertion into a compartment formed in the housing of a hand-held machine tool. The choke may be connected between a mains supply and a brush plate of an electric motor.
