PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rearward and sideward monitoring device for a vehicle capable of warning a driver without complicatedness even when an obstacle exists outside the range of an adjacent lane into which the vehicle is moving. SOLUTION: This device is provided with microwave radars 10a and 10b to detect an object existing around the vehicle to determine distance from the vehicle to the object, turn signal switches 11a and 11b to detect lane changing will of the driver, a lane change start determining means 43 to determine start of lane changing action of the vehicle, a warning output determining means 44 to determine if warning is to be outputted or not based on result of detection by the microwave radar 10a or 10b and the turn signal switch 11a or 11b, and result of determination by the lane change start determining means 43, and a warning means 45 to output warning to the driver based on result of determination by the warning output determining means 44.
