<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make compression molding of polishing sludge possible and to manufacture a briquette which can be recycled at a low cost. <P>SOLUTION: A prescribed amount of cutting waste 28 consisting of the same material as the metallic material polished by a polishing machine 14 is incorporated into the polishing sludge 24 produced from the polishing machine.
