PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a sheet material rotating device which can excellent suppress deformation of a rotary member caused by a centrifugal force and the inertia of the rotary member. SOLUTION: In exposure processing for a printing plate, a rotary drum 24 is rotated at a high speed in the circumferential direction while the plating plate is wound around the rotary drum 24. The rotary drum 24 is supported at its both axial ends, so the quantity of deformation of the rotary drum 24 caused by the centrifugal force is larger toward the axial center of the rotary drum 24. Here, a couple of weight members 48 are provided in the axial center of the rotary drum 24, so the centrifugal forces of the weight members 48 operate on the position where the quantity of deformation of the rotary drum 24 is largest. Consequently, the weight members 48 can effectively and excellently suppress the deformation of the rotary drum 24. The rigidity of the rotary drum 24 can, therefore, be made small, the thickness of the rotary drum 24 is reducible, and the inertial of the rotary drum 24 can be made small. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
