PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sound proofing device for rolling stock which has no problem in safety, advantageous in costs and can maintain excellent soundproof effect for a long time. SOLUTION: A body structure 1 of the rolling stock comprises an underframe 2 with a floor board 3 along it, a side structure 4 on both sides and an end structures 5 on both ends assembled on it, and a roof structure 6 assembled on them. The soundproofing device 16 of the rolling stock comprises a damping sheet 17 and a binding member 18 provided on the sheet and having a vertical elastic coefficient of 1 GPa or more and is provided on the floor board, side structures, roof structure and/or end structures. The damping sheet is made of an organic polymer material with a peak value of loss sine (tanδ) of 1.5 or more. A preferable installation position of the soundproofing device is on a wainscot panel 8 of the side structure. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
