The invention relates to a gearshift device for controlling the gear selection of a motor vehicle gearbox. Said gearshift device comprises a housing, a gearshift lever which is arranged in a recess of the housing and can be pivoted in at least one vertical plane, a cover plate which follows the pivoting movement of the gearshift lever by being coupled to said gearshift lever, and a scanning device which consists of sensors and associated signal transmitters and is used to detect the individual gear positions of the gearbox. According to the invention, the scanning device comprises a sensor (10) which is arranged on the housing in a fixed manner, and a linear signal transmitting unit (13) which is arranged on the pivotable covering plate (14), said unit covering the scanning region of the sensor (9) and being provided with marker points for the gear positions. The gear position signals received by the sensor are supplied to an associated processing unit (12) for evaluation and transmission. The inventive embodiment enables a gearshift device for motor vehicle gearboxes to be economically produced in such a way that it operates in a reliable manner. |
