<p>According to one embodiment of the invention, a system for altering a fluid flow includes a nozzle (228) having a fluid flow (202) and including a converging portion (230), a diverging portion (232) downstream of the converging portion (230), and a throat (234) coupling the converging portion (230) to the diverging portion (232), at least one port located in a wall of the nozzle (228) and angled with respect to the fluid flow (202), and at least one pulse detonation device (300) operable to inject a plurality of detonation waves (302) in a pulsed manner through the port and into the fluid flow (202).
