<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To continuously process printing plates having a positive photosensitive layer for an infrared laser using an alkali developing solution. <P>SOLUTION: In an automatic processing machine, when the power is turned on to start operation, operating time replenishment of an alkali replenisher solution is carried out after stop time replenishment, the targeted value (threshold value) of electric conductivity is corrected and water is replenished on the basis of the measured result of electric conductivity (steps 304-308). Every time insertion of a PS plate is detected with a plate detecting sensor, the processing area of the PS plate is calculated and integrated from the detected time (steps 310 and 312), and when an integrated value S<SB>1</SB>attains to a prescribed value Sa, an alkali replenisher solution is replenished (steps 314-318), and when an integrated value S<SB>2</SB>attains to a prescribed value Sc, an aqueous surfactant solution is replenished (steps 320-324). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
