<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wider viewing angle especially to improve gradation inversion in the lower direction of a panel while maintaining display quality of a liquid crystal display. <P>SOLUTION: An optically anisotropic polymer film having an Re retardation value of 0 to 70 nm and an Rth retardation value of 70 to 500 nm, and an optical compensation sheet having a light scattering layer including translucent fine particles, are used. A haze of the light scattering layer in the direction inclining by 30° with respect to the normal line of the optical compensation sheet is adjusted to be 30% to 95% thereof. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
