PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a space-operation type pointing device small in size, light in weight and very good in operability capable of directly executing a pointer position operation or command executing operation from an arbitrary operating position to a desired position on a display screen and to provide a pointer controller, a pointer control method and a recording medium in which the method is recorded.

SOLUTION: This pointing device for controlling a pointer position at a position to be detected on a display screen having a plurality of feature points is provided with an image pickup means for imaging an image including the plurality of feature points, a signal outputting means for transmitting a signal for calculating the coordinates of the position to be detected on the display screen based on image data imaged by the image pickup means, and a pressure detecting means for detecting a pressure for setting a pointer movement sensitivity coefficient from the displayed pointer position to the position to be detected based on the result outputted from the signal outputting means.
