<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an X-ray foreign substance detection device without erroneously irradiating an X-ray in dismounting a shielding curtain. <P>SOLUTION: This X-ray foreign substance detection device 1 has a conveying means 6 for an inspection object, an X-ray generation means 9, an X-ray detection means 10, and a housing 2. The housing 2 has an entrance 3 and an exit 4 longitudinally disposed, and an opening 5 opened and closed by a door 20. A unit 12 comprising an detachable substrate 13 above the conveying means and a plurality of shielding curtains 11 mounted on the substrate for preventing leakage of the X-ray from the entrance and the exit are installed in the housing. Switches 16 make the X-ray generation means operable by being operated by the door that has closed the opening. When the unit 12 is mounted to the housing, operation means 30 of the unit move a shutter plate 25 against springs 28, and expose the hidden switches 16. When the door is closed, operation pieces 21 operates the switches to make the device operable. Unless the unit is mounted, the switches are hidden by the shutter plate 25 and can not be operated, so that the device can not be operated even if the door is closed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
